Academic Support

Development and Partners

DSI, LLC (DSI) is committed to supporting and partnering with academic institutions* around the world. We understand that academic institutions need access to innovative and dynamic tools in order to stay on the forefront of scientific research and development. That is why we offer a special full academic support package to our users at our partner academic institutions. When an eligible institution buys a license for the EFDC+ Explorer Modeling System (EEMS) and keeps the subscription or maintenance package current, we support that academic institution in the following ways:

Discounts:

• 50% discount on all products purchased by the academic institution. All annual subscriptions and perpetual license come with priority support.

• For training events held by DSI, students and faculty from partnering institutions are eligible for the free U.S.-based trainings we hold near our DSI office.**

Free research and classroom trial licenses for students:

• For each license purchased by a partnering institution, we provide two seats (users) for use by faculty members or students.
• For the instructors teaching a class at an eligible institution, a free classroom license is offered upon request for all students for the duration of the class.
• We offer unlimited access to EEMS demo licenses for students.

Community:

• Students and faculty have access to the EEMS user forum on our website, with the ability to post and/or answer questions from other users.

Source code:

• EFDC+ source code is available on Github. DSI invites students and faculty to collaborate by submitting pull requests, or offering suggestions for improvements to the code with DSI in our ongoing efforts to optimize EFDC+.

*This Academic Support package is intended to apply only to college- or university-based academic institutions; it is not available to other types of research organizations and institutes. To be eligible for the benefits of this package, a representative of the qualified academic institution must sign an Educational Use Agreement.
